These plays are appropriate for all high school classes in American History and to the company’s knowledge meet the Standards of Learning (or standards requirements under other names) for grades 9-12 of all states which have formed and adopted such standards. They are also appropriate for interdisciplinary courses as well as extracurricular activities. The History Project has successfully tested them on unsuspecting high school students. The instructors in these classes noted that the plays were particularly suited to enlighten long classes (the new 90 minute module) as well as for one to two-week breaks from intense text study. These instructors were most interested in the use of creative materials to enliven the history classroom. School libraries will find them valuable, as well.

The US Presidents: Character in TimeOf particular note for libraries and the classroom is that each of the plays contains Endnotes which place the Presidents in not only the time of their administrations but in world history as well. Further personal information about the President, his family, employment, education, and death are also included.

The plays in Character in Time: The US Presidents are theatrical pieces and as such are fiction based on careful historical study. For additional information e-mail history@valink.com.
